Salisbury suffered a two-nil home defeat to Maidstone United, the best away side in the league so far this season, who are yet to be beaten on their travels.

Two goals from Aaron Blair, one in each half, was enough to give The Stones a comfortable win at the Ray Mac.

It didn't take long for Maidstone to take the lead, Arron Blair pouncing on a header forward from Bivesh Gurung, which carried over George Franklin. Blair hit his shot first time beyond Dan Lincoln into the far bottom corner with just 14 minutes on the clock.

Maidstone went close again in the 22nd minute, but Temi Eweka's header landed on the top of the net.

Salisbury created their first real threat when Ronan Silva forced a save from Alexis Andre Jr in the Maidstone goal. Callum Watts played in Silva, whose shot from the edge of the area was tipped over by the Maidstone 'keeper in the 26th minute.

The remainder of the first half played out with the visitors seeing much of the ball, but neither side were able to add to the score line.

In the second half, Salisbury saw a little more of the ball with Callum Watts unable to keep his header on target from an Owen Dore corner in the 54th minute.

The home side were pressing well and a combination of Fasanmade and Coppin teed up Silva whose shot was blocked on the edge of the area.

In the 70th minute it was Coppin who forced a save from Andre, who got down well to push Coppin's effort away.

It was the visitors who scored the second goal of the game, again it was Aaron Blair who capitilsed on a poor clearance by the Salisbury defence, drilling his second of the game into the bottom left hand corner with 10 minutes left of the 90.

Maidstone saw the game out, extending their unbeaten away record to 14 matches in the league.
