It was a year ago that we had the BBC and Disney film crews using our car park when they were shooting Great Expectations in the city. They used the Ray Mac as a double base, housing actors, camera and lighting equipment, wardrobe, and makeup.

Great Expectations airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Sunday, March 26th

It was a very interesting few weeks seeing them all wandering around busily preparing and actors appearing in period costumes before being transported into Salisbury for their scenes.

Our most fond memory of their time here was obviously the catering. The movie star food was fantastic. All SFC staff were invited to eat, and it was a real treat.

The Charles Dickens novel has been developed by Steven Knight who was the creator of Peaky Blinders and it has Executive Producer credits by the likes of Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott

Olivia Colman of The Crown, Broadchurch, The Favourite, and the comedy classic, Hot Fuzz plays Miss Havisham.

Fionn Whitehead stars as Pip and has previously appeared in the movies Dunkirk and The Children Act where he played the role of Adam Henry opposite Emma Thompson.
