TONIGHT 30th August Craig Roocroft’s under 18’s will have the biggest game of their lives when the FA Youth cup tie between the Whites and Gosport Borough FC is played out at the Ray Mac.

Six or seven of the 18’s have featured in the development squad this season so far so any regular attendee’s at those games will recognise the likes of Dyllan Roocroft, Carson Arnold, Harry Mealing, Ben O’Callaghan, Prince Mundy etc.

As ever this round of the FAYC comes before any under 18’s leagues start which does not help either side whom I am sure would have preferred it a month later with 3-4 league games under their belts, but alas it isn’t.

5 years ago it was the likes of Josh Somerton, Ryan Penny and Chae Sykes that took Rich Rendell’s under 18’s to the verge of making the 3rd round proper of this competition, only to be beaten by Swindon Town 3 v 2 at the Ray Mac in the 2nd round. Mine and Nicks own U18’s went down by the same score line to Sparsholt 3 years ago. Now it’s Craig Roocroft’s charges moment in the spotlight and I am certain they will be giving it their all to take the club as far as they can.

All support will be very welcome.
