The Whites 2nd string exists to provide a pathway for the best of our youth and other players from the local area to take the next steps needed to progress to initially adult football at a level which is challenging for players so young, and then hopefully for some into the clubs 1st team.
Over the last 5-6 seasons many players that have come through this pathway have gone on to play senior semi professional football. Sykes, Rayfield, Burden, Penny to name but a few, progressed through the ranks. Josh Somerton and more recently Devon Arnold, made it into our 1st team ranks after coming through the development squad.
The next generation of Harry Mealing, Carson Arnold, and Dyllan Roocroft have all made their 1st team debuts in the 22/23 season. Plus, there are also a good few more already in the system, on top of those that supporters will already know, that will still be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Josh and Devon over the coming few years.
However, it does cost money to run any squad, even without any players or coaches being paid anything – not even expenses. Indeed, we are all volunteers and running the SFC Dev is the hobby that our coaching team are passionate about. For players, it is about investing in their football futures.
To enable us to progress, buy kit and equipment and cover the cost of games and training, we are looking for sponsorship from local businesses or individuals who are keen to help us do our best to help as many local players as possible to continue their development and reach their optimum level before they move on to 1st team football.
There are opportunities for:
Main Development sponsor including front of shirt.
Rear of shirt sponsor
Player sponsorship
Travel wear (polo’s, tracksuits)
Social media and VEO coverage sponsor
In return, apart from doing your bit to promote local players and your logos being seen all over Wiltshire during the season, you will get regular social media acknowledgements, website banners on the development pathway section of the club website and anything else which we can do to help give sponsors something back.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Mark Winter on the details below. We can tailor any support you can give to your budget.
