Charlie Davis and Darren Mullings have left Salisbury FC after many years of service to the Club between them.

Charlie burst into the Salisbury team when he made when he signed from Gosport in the summer of 2020. He made 65 starts, a further 4 appearances from the bench and found the back of the net 10 times. Charlie has been a pleasure to work with and will be missed around the club.

I spoke to Charlie earlier today and he said the following.

Salisbury has been brilliant for me for the last 3 seasons and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club. The fans have been brilliant from the first day, the staff have been fantastic and I can’t speak more highly of the players as they are a fantastic group of people who I will miss a lot. Unfortunately, with the increase in training and how far that is from my home, it is not something I can make feasible within my work commitments. I leave with nothing but good words to say about the club and wish everyone the best moving forwards ?

Darren Mullings, who has been captain for a large part of his time here and made his debut in September 2018 when we played Yate in an FA Cup replay. He made 104 starts, came off the bench for another 23 sub appearances and scored 11 times. He’s an imposing presence on the pitch and a gentleman off it.

Darren managed to find a little time in his busy day to send me the following message.

After 5 enjoyable years at Salisbury FC, it is time for me to move on and progress onto the next stage of my career. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team, committee, fans and my sponsor for all their support during this time. It has been a pleasure to both play and captain the side.
I wish everyone involved at the club all the best for the future.

The Salisbury FC Manager, Brian Dutton said

“I want to thank both players for their service since I have been at the football club. They have both been key players for the football club over the years, they leave the football club with our best wishes and good luck with their next step.”

Thanks to Charlie and Darren and good luck to both of you for the future.
