Salisbury equalised in the 96th Minute to rescue a point away at fellow newly promoted Enfield Town FC.

The Whites' first road trip in November took them to Middlesex, where Enfield Town would play the hosts at the Dave Bryant Stadium.

The first few minutes made for a cagey start as both sides were careful in their initial approaches. In the 4th minute Noah Coppin was first to have an attempt on goal as his header from a Tom Leggett cross sailed over the bar.

The chance would start a period of play where the Whites took a degree of control playing much of their football in the Enfield Town half.

In the 10th minute Salisbury’s high-line was caught for the first time as the hosts broke, however Josh Sommerton did well to recover and catch Oneyuga in a direct foot-race to clear the threat.

Seven minutes later, Enfield managed to find another quick break which saw a pinpoint ball in the box land at the head of Billy Leonard, the attacker got a clean connection from six yards but he couldn’t beat the cat-like Dan Lincoln in the Salisbury net.

As the first half progressed, Callum Watts started to get more and more involved. The midfielder linked up well with Josh Hedges to almost fashion a good shooting opportunity however Xavier Benjamin did well to stop the proceedings via an interception.

In the 30th minute, Hedges used his feet to gain a yard on his man, the attacker picked out Craig Fasanmade, who was making his first start in a number of weeks, but Fasanmade could only find a Enfield town body as his shot was deflected out of danger.

Adam Thompson was the first name in the book after pulling down Watts, who had just started to make a surging run behind the Enfield backline.

In the 36th Minute, Josh Sommerton dispossessed Oyenuga in the Salisbury half. The player then clipped a ball into the path of Tom Leggett, who cleverly found Noah Coppin, who was free on the far side. Coppin took on the chance first time and found the palms of Rhys Forster in the Enfield town net.

Watts was the next name in the book, after preventing Enfield from breaking after a Salisbury corner.

Five minutes before the interval, Hedges controlled the ball out the sky and fed it to Coppin who cut inside onto his right, the shot was blocked well by Enfield.

The last action of the first half was a venomous Owen Dore strike that just missed the crossbar. The chance was presented after a nice spell of Salisbury football.

At Halftime the first change was made, Fasanmade made way for Ryan Penny as Brian Dutton looked to tweak the system.

The first notable action of the second 45 was a move that started with Sido Jombati. The defender clipped a long ball to Coppin, whose first touch was an elegant layoff for substitute Ryan Penny, whose powerful strike struck Alfie Tuck.

In the 52nd minute, Watts’s immaculate first touch when plucking the ball out of the sky enabled him to swivel and shoot; the strike forced Forster into a palmed stop.

Enfield’s next half chance came when skipper Thompson spotted Lincoln off his line and tried to lob the 29-year-old goalkeeper. However, the attempt went wayward and out for a goal kick.

In the 65th minute, Dutton turned to his bench again. Ronan Silva and George Franklin entered the game in place of Noah Coppin and Jordan Ragguette.

Two minutes later, Enfield Town centre back Benjamin found himself space inside the Whites' box. However, the chance was wasted with a poor finish that flew over the goal and the stand behind it.

Jaden Perez was the next name summoned from the away bench; the midfielder replaced Owen Dore.

After an Enfield Town cross into the Salisbury penalty area, Canice Carrol was the hero, denying a goal with a block to keep the score level.

In the 87th minute, an Enfield Town corner was cleared, but the second cross into the box found its way to ADAM THOMPSON’S feet in the centre of the box. The player rolled the ball into the back of the net to give the hosts a late lead.

As the initial 90 minutes ended, the fourth official indicated seven additional minutes, much to the delight of the deflated Salisbury away support.

In the 96th minute, CALLUM WATTS was the hero, as the midfielder was the coolest man on the pitch. He rounded Forster and picked out the back of the net after a last-gasp Salisbury attack.

That would prove to be the last action, as the referee ended the game. The Whites took a point back to Wiltshire, which, overall, looked like a fair result.

Salisbury welcome Farnborough to the RayMac on Saturday 16th November for FA Trophy action. Tickets can be bought here - https://www.salisburyfc.co.uk/tickets/
