Salisbury FC Under 17s were the triumphant team in the Wiltshire FA Youth Cup Final at the Ray Mac on Tuesday evening (18th March).

They ran out 2-1 winners against Salisbury FC Under 18s in front of 302 supporters in the ground.

The Under 17s took the lead in the 17th minute when Harry Chandler redirected a goal-bound shot beyond Osric Bell in the Under 18s goal.

The Under 17s then doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when captain Jacob Adams flicked a header in from a well-delivered free kick.

There was a heart in mouth moment as the Under 18s looked to get back into the game – but Under 17s ‘keeper Dylan Smith got down well to produce the save of the match to keep the two-goal advantage going into half time.

It only took 12 minutes of the second half for the Under 18s to get back into the game, Josh Brown finishing low into the bottom corner.

The Under 18s pilled on the pressure, with the Under 17s also creating chances on the break, but neither side were able to add to the score line as the game ended with 113 minutes on the clock.

Salisbury FC Under 17s lifted the trophy in front of the main stand to a great reception, and Dylan Smith was named Wiltshire FA’s man of the match. (Video: Wiltshire FA)
