Salisbury return to the Ray Mac after the thrilling 3-3 draw away at Dorking Wanderers on Saturday to face high-flying Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday evening (22nd October).

Brian Dutton’s side came out level against Dorking in a game that only caught fire in the final 15 minutes. The home side had taken the lead in the first half through Jack Young, who then struck again to double the lead with just seven minutes of the 90 remaining.

Nobody could have scripted what followed with four more goals to be added and the game running into the 100th minute.

First, Salisbury got a foothold in the game when Josh Hedges pulled on back from the spot in the 87th minute. Ronan Silva’s leveller followed that in the fifth minute of added time. With the six additional minutes initially indicated by the referee already played, the away supporters were sent into a frenzy when Josh Hedges flicked home to give Salisbury the lead in the seventh minute of added time.

The game wasn’t done yet, though, as the game continued into the 10th minute of added time when Bobby-Joe Taylor added the sixth and final goal to level the scores.

It leaves Salisbury unbeaten in four matches, having scored 12 goals in those four matches. They are 12th in the table.

Weston-super-Mare come into the game in great form, having not lost in nine since they were beaten 1-0 away from home by Enfield Town in their second league match of the season.

Since then, Weston have won six and drawn three, lifting them up the table to fourth. Last time out, they drew 0-0 with Boreham Wood at the Seagull’s Woodspring stadium.

The last meeting between the two sides was in April 2023, when former White Scott Bartlett’s side celebrated their promotion-winning campaign as champions from the Southern League Premier South. The sides drew 1-1 at the Ray Mac on that occasion.

Weston enjoyed a good first season back in the Vanarama National League South last term, finishing 13th.
