This Saturday (29th March), Salisbury welcome Tonbridge Angels to the Ray Mac as their first season in the Vanarama National League South nears its completion.

It’s been a season of ups and downs with many of the players in Brian Dutton’s squad new to this level and the manager himself admits that lessons have been learned.

When the two sides met earlier in the season on the last day of August, it was a single goal from Sean Shields that separated the two sides.

Shield’s effort looped up over Ryan Gosney after taking a deflection on it’s way past the Salisbury ‘keeper.

Tonbridge now find themselves comfortably in mid-table with only a mathematical chance of making the playoffs as the season enters it’s last six matches.

In their last game, Tonbridge beat fellow mid-table side Chelmsford United at home, goals from Sean Shields and Taylor Maloney giving them the victory in a two-one win.

Jay Saunders said he was pleased with the result:

Tonbridge’s form over the last six games has been mixed, with three wins and three losses, collecting nine points from a possible 18. Salisbury have struggled a little, losing as many games, but with two draws and a win, giving them five points from those six matches.

In the last game, they made their longest trip of the season to face Truro City and left Cornwall with nothing to show on their travels other than a litany of yellow cards, including a second for Josh Hedges and a feeling of frustration.

Brian Dutton shared his frustrations after the match:

Brian Dutton and his side will be looking to bounce back and put points on the board in their final six matches, three of which are played at the Ray Mac.

Supporters can save money on the final three games by purchasing the FINAL THREE ticket, which will save them up to £13 compared to turnstile prices and gives them access to the final three home games, starting this weekend against Tonbridge Angels.

The club are also showing the FA Cup games between Crystal Palace V Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion V Nottingham Forest on the screens in the bar and is also offering £1 off draught pints up to 2 pm.
