Salisbury FC are delighted to announce the return of forward Josh Hedges to the Ray Mac, subject to FA approval.
A key component of Brian Dutton’s side over the last few seasons, including the promotion season in 2023/24 with the Whites joining the National League South via the play-off final.
Hedges, 21, joined Chelmsford City in the summer after turning down a new deal at Salisbury, but now returns to the club after failing to settle at the Essex-based club and cancelling his contract by mutual consent.
The tricky forward made 30 league appearances during a season affected by injuries, scoring 10 goals and assisting nine as Salisbury survived on the final day of the season.
A fan favourite who will add to the attacking options available for the new season.
Brian Dutton said that he was delighted to see Hedges return to the Ray Mac, “We’re delighted to welcome Josh Hedges back. He is a player that we didn’t want to lose over the summer.
“Josh wanted to become a full-time footballer, but it hasn’t worked out the way he wanted. He is a very talented footballer. Before his injury, his trajectory was really high, with interest all the way up to League One.
“We think we can get him back to that level, if he is fully over his injury and he has the motivation to get there.
“He will add strong competition to our attacking players within the squad, and I am sure the signing will delight our fans. Welcome back, Hedgey!”
