Salisbury FC are delighted to announce that the club has agreed terms with goalkeeper Will Buse.
A product of the Bristol City youth system, Buse, 23, has spent the latter part of pre-season on trial with the club, appearing in several friendlies, including against Eastleigh, Dorchester Town and most recently, Poole Town.
Yeovil-born Buse joined Bristol City at the age of 14 and progressed through to the Under-18s and then Under-23s squads. During his time at the Robins, Buse spent time with both Truro City and Dorchester Town on loan.
In August 2022, Buse joined his home town club, Yeovil Town, on a season-long loan, before signing permanently the following summer. The keeper then spent time on loan at Bath City, Weston-super-Mare, and then, most recently, finished last season at Weymouth.
Buse has clocked up 72 appearances in Step 1 or Step 2 across those clubs, with 43 league appearances last season between Weston and Weymouth.
Brian Dutton said, “We’re delighted to bring Will on board, he’s really impressed during pre-season. He’s a modern goalkeeper, who is very good with his feet as well as being an excellent shot stopper.
“It’s been a long process in finding the right option between the sticks, but our patience has paid off, and we look forward to working with Will.”
Joining Buse at the club is former Reading academy keeper James Sharlott (18). Released from the Reading youth system over the summer, Sharlott, who lives in Tidworth, has been joining Salisbury’s first team training sessions and has now earned himself a deal at the Ray Mac. Sharlott spent time on loan at Thatcham Town last season, making 17 appearances for the Southern League Division One South side.
Dutton added, “It’s great also to bring in James. He is a keeper with a bright future ahead of him, and he will learn lots from Will. He lives locally, so it’s great to be able to give local talent a chance.”
Salisbury can also confirm that Gabe Reivers has joined Didcot Town on loan.
