The Whites had to settle for a point on New Year's Day after a hard-fought battle against Weymouth in tough conditions.
The first chance of the New Year fell to Goodship, who could only fire wide; the chance came when Terra’s skipper Josh Mcquoid stepped onto a loose pass in the White's half and found his teammate in space.
The visitors would also fashion the first proper chance of the game through Linton, the striker peeled off the shoulder of Josh Sommerton to receive a long-looped pass, Dan Lincoln was quick off his line to close off his goal and save the attempt.
Salisbury then started to grow into the game, and the Whites saw a lot of the possession and started to probe.
In the 29th, Noah Coppin gained possession of the ball out wide and spotted the run of Ronan Silva, who he found. The ball took a deflection which placed the ball perfectly into the path of Silva, the striker’s attempt was saved well by Will Buse to keep the scores level.
A few minutes later, Callum Watts spotted Cameron Coxe running in behind the fullback, Watts produced the perfectly weighted pass to find the wide-man, Coxe’s touch was delicate and allowed him to cross early. His ball was deflected out for a corner.
Five minutes before the interval, Coppin had a half chance when he cut inside his fullback to get a strike away, however it was fired just over.
The teams went into the changing rooms level pegging.
At the start of the second period, the visitors applied some pressure during a ten-minute spell and camped in the Salisbury half.
The first chance of the second half was a Salisbury one. Jordan Ragguette beat his man and got into the box; the fullback produced an elegant ball across the six-yard box, but no one was there to get on the end of it.
Buse came to the rescue once again for the visitors when he kept out a Watts half-volley from just outside the penalty area, which had come after a corner that wasn’t cleared convincingly.
The first Whites change came midway through the second half; Tom Leggett came on to add some energy to the Whites, replacing Aiden Elliot-Wheeler.
Salisbury, much like the first half, were seeing much of the ball. Some high-tempo football was allowing the hosts to break Weymouth defensive lines causing trouble for the Dorset side.
Despite the lion’s share of possession that the Whites had, no real quality opportunities presented themselves, and Weymouth had the best chance to snatch the points.
In the 82nd, a brilliant cross in from a wide area saw substitute Euan Pollock with the chance to nod it into the vacant net of the Wiltshire side, but no contact was made very much to the relief of the hosts.
The final minutes were scrappy, resulting in an absolute battle, which was assisted by the wet and slippery playing surface.
Five minutes of additional time was indicated; however, nothing else was to come.
The game finished a stalemate with both sides settling for a point and a goalless draw.
