Brian Dutton’s Salisbury side will travel to Farnborough looking to get back to winning ways after consecutive defeats against Tonbridge and Chesham.
After an unbeaten start, the Whites have slipped to two successive defeats; despite playing well for long periods against Chesham United on Tuesday night, they fell to a 2-1 home loss.
Ronan Silva had given Salisbury the lead in the 5th minute, but by halftime, Chesham, who were league champions on their way to promotion from the Southen League last season, had turned things around and led.
Salisbury huffed and puffed in the second half, but were unable to get back level. Jordan Ragguette came closest with a stunning drive from 30 yards that hit the underside of the bar, bounced down and back up again and out. The officials adjudged that it hadn’t crossed the line, and Salisbury remained frustrated.
Farnborough are also on a mixed run, winning two and losing three of their last four games. On Tuesday evening, they lost away at AFC Hornchurch. A single goal in the first half from Liam Nash was enough to separate the two sides.
Spencer Day’s side had won their three opening games of the season, including a 1-0 win against Torquay, but then came unstuck with a 4-1 defeat away at Welling United. Since then, they have also lost to Tonbridge Angels and picked up a win against struggling St Albans.
Their good early form leaves them 8th in the table with 12 points.
Salisbury currently sit in 15th with eight points and have been playing some good football.
