Salisbury welcome Chesham United to the Ray Mac on Tuesday evening for the seventh Vanarama National League South campaign match of the campaign.

Just one point separates the two sides promoted from the Southern League Premier South last season, with Chesham winning two of their six games, drawing one and losing three.

Chesham, who were promoted as champions at the end of last season, won their match on Saturday away at Welling United with a 3-1 win against 10-men.

Chesham were the better side for most of the afternoon. They took a deserved first-half lead and successfully ended the game late on.

The Generals have faired better away from home, but they have yet to pick up a point after three home defeats at The Meadow.

Salisbury have been on great form at the Ray Mac, having beaten two sides who have topped the table so far in Slough and Boreham Wood but lost on the road to Tonbridge Angels on Saturday. A deflected goal from Sean Sheilds the difference between the two sides.

The match will be a good indicator of both sides’ progress since promotion, with both sides making changes to their starting lineups.

Chesham’s front line has a new look, with last season’s top scorer, Riccardo German, now at Hemel Hempstead. So far, Nathan Minhas has taken up the mantle, scoring four goals in five appearances since arriving from Slough Town.
