The development pathway includes an under 18’s side for the 23/24 season and a development squad competing in the Wiltshire Premier division, a feeder league to the NLS. The Dev squad is the 2nd string of Salisbury FC. The main purpose of the coaches and management is to provide talented and ambitious players a pathway to the 1st team.
We train midweek alongside the 1st team. Our coaching team have many years experience in football from youth to 1st team football.
The philosophy of the club is to focus on excellent young players that importantly still have time to develop and reach their peak. As of August 2022 the age range of the squad is 16 to 24 years old. We treat it as an under 23 side but we are not limited by age. At the start of the 22/23 season our average age was 18.6. The season ended with more than 50% of the starting 11 being 17.
